WOMEN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The dawn of the new age has produced a plethora of numerous opportunities for females.
‘Woman’ – a single word is enough to well explain the roles, responsibilities, sacrifices, commitment, and duties exhibited with dedication throughout her life.

Women entrepreneurship, is symbolic of rising economic growth and development. Women give way to the birth of new jobs for themselves and others, to bestow the society with countless solutions to management propaganda and business issues.

Indian Policies and Schemes formulated for Women Entrepreneurs in India, such as :-
1. State Small Industries Development Corporations (SIDCs)
2. Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs)         
    development organizations
3. NGO-organized numerous programs such as Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDPs), to take care of the needs of potential women folks, who are without an educational background.
 

Challenges faced by Women Entrepreneurs

When a woman enters the most competitive premises of tactical entrepreneurial venture, she finds several hampering factors and obstacles which own a totally different class of impediments, from those that men experience.
The term ‘entrepreneur’ is akin to an ‘adventurer’.
1. Confrontation of a tough competition by male counterparts: India owns the third largest start-up foundation in the entire globe.  Stepping up over 1,000 new start-ups in the last year presents a good statistics of facts and figures. Yet, the fraction of female start-up founders is not more than 11% in India.

2. The balance between Work and Daily Life: Women contribute to an enormous part in tackling household responsibilities and fulfilling the role of nourishment of their family members. Maintaining constant synchronization is a great task to accomplish single-handedly.

3. Lack of Support (Financial and Moral): For women groups, managing a business becomes immensely troublesome, if their family and relatives do not cooperate.


4. Lack of a Formal education    As history has shown, females are majorly discouraged from pursuing a meaningful education of their interest, and are made to focus on managing their families. This has been by far the largest contributor in the percentage of illiterate Women over time.

*According to UNESCO’s education report, Women comprises 68% of the country’s total illiterate population. Illiterate Female entrepreneurs confront numerous problems with respect to understanding money matters, business development, or even day-to-day tasks assigned by the association.

Women are the section of society, who have the ability to observe the world through a different lens, a different perspective.
They, utilizing their own set of natural skills, given a boost and direction, could give a whole new touch and functionality to lives and business around them. 

Having only the Men as the thinkers and doers, is now a thing of the past. 
No, Women Entrepreneurship isn’t an ‘in-thing’, a fad, or a trend.
It’s a journey, which was underground for too long, now discovered and unearthed.
